Lost Items (including Interlibrary Loan items) | Cost of replacement |
SAGU students, staff, and faculty may utilize Interlibrary Loan to obtain resources to which SAGU does not already have access. Students are limited to four (4) ILL books at a time; staff and faculty should speak to the ILL librarian to discuss obtaining more than four (4) at a time. There is no limit to the number of simultaneous article requests one may place. Students, staff, and faculty are responsible for returning physical items to the Library in a timely manner (by the posted Due Date) and will be billed for any lost/not returned items and will be blocked from obtaining physical items through ILL in the future.
ILL Limits:
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of copies or other reproduction of copyrighted material. If a user makes a request for, or later uses a copy or reproduction for purposes in excess of fair use, that user may be liable for copyright infringement. We reserve the right to refuse a request if, in our judgment, fulfillment of the order involves violation of copyright law.
The standard for all library interactions is to treat each other with courtesy: Use the library, but don't be crazy.
Drinks are permitted in the main parts of the library, provided they have lids; drinks are not permitted in the computer labs. In the event of an accidental spill, housekeeping should be notified immediately. Food is permitted in designated areas.
The library recognizes diverse students require diverse study environments. Therefore, the library is clearly divided into three color-coded zones. Noise levels will be enforced.
Yellow = Collaborative Zone. Appropriate behavior here includes group work, normal level of conversations, or answering a phone call.
Orange = Quiet Zone. Appropriate behavior here includes individual study, whispering, and keeping phones on silent/vibrate. Phone calls should be answered in a Collaborative Zone.
Blue = Deep Quiet Zone. Appropriate behavior here includes individual study, no talking, and music inaudible to others. Phones should be kept on silent, and calls should be answered in a Collaborative Zone.
Current SAGU students, staff, and faculty are automatically library members. Additionally, the library offers the following memberships:
